Are you an experienced Operations Manager, Engineering Manager, or Critical Environment professional looking for your next leadership opportunity?
We're recruiting for an Operations Manager to oversee engineering operations within a major mission-critical facility in South Yorkshire. Leading a team of engineers and shift personnel, you'll play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining critical infrastructure, and delivering exceptional service across a technically complex environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys leading people, solving technical challenges, and working closely with clients and specialist contractors.
The RoleAs Operations Manager, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of a critical engineering facility, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient service delivery.
- Manage engineering teams, shift supervisors, and specialist contractors while driving performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee switching schedules, planned maintenance, reactive works, and vendor management across the site.
- Build strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and ensuring contractual KPIs and service standards are achieved.
- Support technical problem-solving across electrical, mechanical, UPS, cooling, and critical building services infrastructure.
YouTo be successful in this Operations Manager role, you'll bring:
- Experience managing engineering operations within a critical environment, data centre, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or other technically complex facility.
- Strong understanding of electrical building services, power distribution, UPS systems, generators, cooling systems, and planned maintenance.
- Previous experience leading engineering teams and managing contractors within a Facilities Management or Building Services environment.
- HNC, Degree, or equivalent engineering qualification, with 18th Edition highly desirable. AP status would be advantageous but can be supported through training.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
