We are currently recruiting on behalf of a public sector services provider for a qualified Electrical Engineer to support an Asylum Accommodation and Support Services (AASC) contract across the Cheshire.
This is a rewarding opportunity to apply your electrical expertise within domestic properties while helping to support vulnerable individuals through the asylum system.
 
The Role
As an Electrician, you will provide specialist electrical support across a portfolio of domestic accommodation. Working closely with housing and maintenance teams, you will support non-trade operatives and ensure all electrical works are completed safely, compliantly, and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Electrical installation, maintenance, and repair works within domestic dwellings
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults across power, lighting, fire alarms/panels, and emergency lighting systems
  • Completing all required electrical certification and compliance documentation
  • Installing, testing, and repairing emergency systems
  • Carrying out PAT testing and producing inspection reports and recommendations
  • Supporting the wider maintenance team as required
  • Participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota
  • Travelling across the North West region, with occasional UK-wide travel
 
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A full UK driving licence
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation (2365, 2330, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working within domestic properties
  • Flexibility to work on-call outside normal working hours
Due to the nature of the contract, candidates must be able to obtain:
  • CRB/DBS clearance
  • CTC (Counter Terrorism Check) security clearance
(This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office.)
