Electrical Maintenance Engineer 

Salary: £27,591
6 Month Fixed Term Contract (Full-Time, 40 Hrs)

You will report into the Senior Engineer & Facilities Manager and work alongside a team of multi-skilled engineers within the Facilities Services team, carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance activities to items of electrical plant & equipment, as may be defined and specified on systems on or below 240V AC.
As your role will be key to supporting the function, especially in the challenging environment of a secure establishment, this role calls for leadership and setting visible standards of personal performance & accountability and you will be expected to function with a degree of independence.

You will carry out fault finding and defect rectification to items of installed plant and apparatus, as and when required. You will have knowledge of low voltage distribution and network systems and be able to operative with minimum supervision. As part of your progression and training, you will work on LV systems >240 volts under supervision. Other key responsibilities will include:
  • Familiarisation with the operation and maintenance of the various systems and equipment installed in the whole of the premises as defined or requested.
  • Carrying out investigations into the performance of the plant and equipment installed in the site and to produce related reports and recommendations as may be required.
  • Assisting in specifying and obtaining spare parts and other items of equipment which may be required to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the technical estate.
  • Assisting in multi-trade support of other members of the FM team.

What you will need to do the role:
You must have C & G Electricians Certificate in Safe Isolation/Safe Electrical Working or equivalent and qualified to BS7671 (Current Edition of the IEE Regulations) with a good working knowledge of electrical systems (low voltage).
