Client Side Senior Development Manager opportunity with an International Residential Developer, in Central London.
The successful Senior Development Manager, shall report directly into the Managing Director and will need to be a specialist in large scale residential developments. They have a portfolio of approximately  3,000 residential sale and Build to Rent units, which are at various stages of development, from acquisition, through concept design through to on site  construction delivery stage. 
Their portfolio covers, private, affordable and PRS units, with the developments being a mixture of Townhouses, Medium & High- Rise and Large-Scale Urban Regeneration.

Senior Development Manager requirements:   
 
The Senior Development Manager will assist the Managing Director to manage the internal development and construction team. You will be accountable for providing leadership and mentoring to direct reports to ensure results are delivered. Ensure direct reports receive sufficient support from the business to carry out responsibilities and that all ‘roadblocks’ to success are remove. Work collaboratively with the project team and wider company.
Project Management
Establish, monitor and manage the project master programme to meet approved cash flows and delivery deadlines for each project stage.
Manage the preparation of design and construction estimates.
Prepare project viability appraisals and manage them throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage negotiations with relevant authorities and gain approvals for required title and address registration, design and planning related matters, service connections, building control and warranty matters in a timely manner.
Attend and where required chair progress meetings and ensure timely circulation of meeting notes, with follow up communication to drive actions in a timely manner

Develop the Project Business Plan & Outline Development Brief into the Final Development Brief in conjunction with Sales and Marketing Team  
Lead the preparation and lodgement of planning applications, through to approval.
Be highly conversant with local planning processes in general and particularly the relevant planning schemes and rezoning.
Establish controls that track detailed requirements for various approvals.
Effectively communicate proposed planning, urban design guidelines and design intent of project elements to internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise with relevant project team to ensure timely and appropriate delivery of planning reports for integration and coordination with architectural, engineering, ad other planning documentation and seek the appropriate input of relevant technical material to facilitate the production of planning proposals.
Manage discharge of planning conditions.
Select, negotiate terms of appointment, appoint, direct and control consultants to provide design and other professional services by methods agreed with the Managing Director.
Prepare consultant design briefs (including preparation and administration of Professional Services Agreements).
Provide assistance and input into development strategy under direction of the Managing Director.
Provide input and assistance into the preparation and management of a development program that is consistent with the Business Plan.
Prepare and maintain inputs for the Project Viability Appraisals.
Monitor & report on project costs.
Forecast and manage design fee budgets. Approve invoices and variations within prescribed limits of authority.
  

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor degree in a property related field - Real Estate, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Economics, Quantity Surveying or similar
Project and Design Management experience is essential.
Established high calibre development professional
Proven track record of delivering complex residential led mixed use schemes.
Good understanding of the property development process, in particular acquisition, planning and construction.

Outstanding written and spoken communication skills. Able to form good relationships with internal and external stakeholder.
Commercially aware.
Critical thinking, able to analyse complex issues and make timely and accurate decisions.
Driven individual. Able to work under pressure and in fast pace.
Experience of working for larger house builder
Candidates who came from a prior technical background is desirable
